Mental Health Awareness Month is over
What is next?
Now that May and Mental Health Awareness month has passed what are the real concrete next steps that are going to be taken on both a legislative and local level to really grant accessibility to the most vulnerable citizens
( myself included) before we just vanish from people’s minds and the world's conscious again?
I am a local underrepresented artist with a mental health disability and a former teacher in the Jewish community in Ma. I can earnestly tell you that things are not getting better and the most vulnerable like myself are still being denied accessibly of the quality long-term mental health treatment we need because of continued rejection of the providers and insurance companies who are denying us accessibility. This is not a new story. Without the care we need I can only see catastrophe end for myself and so many.
Awareness is great but without action soon I am afraid my life and the lives so many men and women just like me will continue fall to the wayside. We are human and deserve help.
My name is Hadassah Chavivah Zeltzer A.K.A Kimmie Zeltzer and I am an underrepresented artist, songwriter, award-winning filmmaker.
